A Visit to the Farmer’s Market at #FoodieFridays no. 4

Sharing is caring!

Welcome back to Foodie Fridays! Whether you are sharing recipes with us, or came by to look for some new ones, we’re glad to have you here with us!

We’ve got a couple changes that we’d like to let you know about…we’ll now be going live every Thursday evening at 9 PM EST instead of midnight Friday morning! Hopefully that will help those of you who like to link up early!

Also, we are very excited to announce that Christie from A Kitchen Hoor, who was a guest co-host with us last week, will be joining us a permanent co-host!

We pin EVERY recipe that gets linked up, so please feel free to share your favorite recipes from your blog each week! We also try to share as many of your recipes as possible on social media. In fact, last week A Dash of Sanity’s S’mores no bake Cheesecake was shared 36 times from my Facebook page! If you didn’t catch this one the first time around, you should definitely head over and check her recipe out!

Every week we’ll also each be sharing our features. Lately I’ve been obsessed with farm fresh fruits and veggies, as I’m sure you can tell from my own recipe posts. This week I shared a garlic scape and basil pesto, and last week it was Lebanese stuffed squash!  Between our CSA and the farmer’s market, we are truly enjoying the growing season. So I’m going with a “cooking with the farmer’s market” theme this week!

Visit to the Farmers Market at Foodie Fridays

One of the recipes I was most excited about was the Carne Asada Street Tacos from Pure Grace Farms, which is now one of my new favorite food blogs. It’s not a veggie dish, but it’s got fresh garden salsa, tomatillo verde sauce, onions, and plenty of cilantro. This is my kind of meal…I absolutely love any kind of Mexican food!

Then we have the Avocado and Feta Salad from Girl and the Kitchen, one of my co-hosts. Doesn’t it look good?! I haven’t tried this one yet, but I have tried plenty of her recipes, and let me tell you, Mila rocks.  My family loves every single one of her recipes I have tried. I know we don’t get avocados at the farmer’s market here on the East Coast, but we get tomatoes and red onions (which are also in her salad) and avocados are a staple in my house.

Blahnik Baker shared a Grilled Vegetable Quinoa Salad that looks great. We have just started to cook with quinoa (which has incredible health benefits) but we’ve been grilling vegetables forever.  If you haven’t tried grilled vegetables yet, you really should! They are so tasty!

I had another fave from Pure Grace Farms this week as well, Grilled Snap Peas and Soy Ginger Sauce. Sadly, our snap pea season is over here, but I have just enough left to try her recipe. If you are lucky enough to have a few weeks left of snap pea season, you should check out her recipe and her instructions on how to freeze snap peas, so you can enjoy them into the winter as well. I have it pinned already for next year!

And last, but certainly not least, we have this delicious Strawberry Granita infused with basil mint syrup from Allspice and Nutmeg. It looks so refreshing…the perfect dessert for a hot summer evening! I can’t wait to try it!

Ready to join the party?

A Dish of Daily Life

The rules are simple!

  1. Link up your favorite recipes from your own blog. (Please do not repeat the same posts week after week. We will delete repeat posts.)
  2. Share the party so others can join in the fun. Tweet us! Use the hashtag #FoodieFridays
  3. Visit at least 2-3 links and leave a thoughtful comment. Everyone loves to be appreciated! Let them know you are visiting from #FoodieFridays!
  4. If you’d like to include our button on your sidebar or link party list…or even a link back to us on your individual post you are linking up, we’d greatly appreciate it. But there is no obligation to do so.
  5. We’d love to connect with you on social media, but again, that isn’t a requirement of the party. If you’d like to check out our Pinterest boards though, we think you’ll find some great pins!
