With summer coming to an end, it’s the perfect time for a last hurrah by the pool with friends. I’m always a little sad when we close up the pool because it means the cooler weather is coming. But while the sun is still shining, I’m going to enjoy every last bit of summer. In fact, we plan to do some entertaining Labor Day weekend!

I can’t think of a more wonderful way to enjoy the end of the season than with Barefoot Refresh. It’s delicious by itself over ice, and great for casual entertaining…perfect for “Spritzer Season!”

I thought I’d have a little fun with it for our upcoming celebrations. Sangria is one of my favorites, but there are times when I’d love to enjoy that fruity taste in a lighter drink. That’s where Barefoot Refresh Perfectly Pink Spritzer comes in, and my Pomegranate Berry Sangria Spritzer recipe was born. Doesn’t that look refreshing?

Plus this Sangria Spritzer recipe is very easy to make!

Slice up an orange and a lime, and add the slices and some raspberries and blackberries to the bottom of your pitcher.

Then add your Barefoot Refresh Perfectly Pink Spritzer, your pomegranate liquor, and your juice and lemonade over the top of the fruit.  Let it sit in your refrigerator for an hour or so to let those flavors blend.

Then you’ll fill your glass with ice cubes…if your ice cubes came from your freezer, rinse them first to get rid of any possible aftertaste from your freezer.

Fill each glass about 2/3 of the way full, then top off with seltzer. If you prefer a sweeter drink, ginger ale is also nice.  I like it both ways, but it is a bit more tart with the seltzer. Garnish with more fruit.

When you’re having friends over, it’s nice to have something light and refreshing that you can make ahead and have ready when your get together starts…leaving you more time to make memories with friends and family! I’m all for anything that can free up my time the day of the party!

This Pomegranate Berry Red Sangria Spritzer would be a lovely addition to a girl’s night as well, or even just lounging by the pool. I’m hoping for a day or two of that before we close up for the season. Thankfully, the weather is still really warm here!

Wondering what kind of food to pair it with? This sangria spritzer is quite versatile! It will go wonderfully with just about any kind of appetizer assortment, works well with your favorite grilling recipes, or even spicy foods. And it’s light enough to go with anything you might pack in a picnic basket. I’m thinking maybe some grilled shrimp or grilled fish tacos would be great with it this Labor Day weekend.
