Happy Friday!

Do you ever feel like you are so busy you are running around like crazy and then have nothing to show for it at the end of the week? That’s me this week. It’s not a good feeling.

Tonight my mother-in-law is hosting the Boys XC team for their pasta party the night before State Opens. Their host fell through last minute…it’s kind of a funny story, but typically one of the championship pasta parties is hosted by a boy who plays on the soccer team. Both of his older brothers ran cross country, and he has friends on the team, so since his brothers graduated, he’s been hosting one of the championship parties. However, our boys soccer team is playing for the conference championship tonight, so he is unavailable to host a pasta party! As soon as I get this post written and ready to go, I’m headed to that game.

I’m guessing since we just hosted a party for the conference championship that my son thought it was maybe better to ask his grandmother. She lives across the street from us and was happy to do it. I just found out yesterday. Lots of good communication going on in our house. LOL

Last week the boys had their Class States, which is the state championship by school size. Our boys are in the second largest classification. They had a great race! My son won the overall title and their team won the Championship, which makes it three championships in a row for them. We placed 3 boys in the top 10, and one just missed it at 11th. Tomorrow they run against all school sizes.  I didn’t really get a great picture of my son…I was too busy cheering. But here’s the team photo…they look pretty happy!

I actually have a recipe we just made for one of the last pasta parties we held coming up here soon…hopefully I will get it on the blog in the next few days. But I did post a pasta recipe earlier this week, Rigatoni Salsiccia e Rapini, that I think you will love! It’s an easy to make Italian pasta recipe with sausage and broccoli rabe that is perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ready for the party?

We’re not really a rules-type party. But here’s what we do ask.

1. Link up your favorite recipes and projects from your own blog. Roundups are fine as long as they include links to the recipes or DIY projects. Please DO NOT link a post without a recipe, project, craft, or tutorial.

2. We’d be truly grateful if you shared our party to other food and DIY blog friends so others can join in the fun! Tweet us. Share us on Facebook (the party will go up on my page on Thursday evening, if you’d like to share from there). However you can help us spread the word, we appreciate!

3. It’s not a requirement of course, but if you can, try to visit another link or two and leave a thoughtful comment. Give someone a shout out on social media. Use the hashtag #FoodieFriDIY…we’re trying to grow a community for all of us, and it’s always nice to make new friends.

4. We’d love it if you’d follow us on Pinterest.

Don’t forget after you get done linking up to drop by my Facebook page and share your favorite recipes or DIY project that you have linked up. I will try my best to show your post some extra love…please be sure to share either the link or the number in the link up so it’s easy for me to find it!

Let’s get this party started!
