Old School Blogging: Alphabet Soup

Sharing is caring!

This is my first time Old School Blogging. I just started blogging in the fall of last year, so this Old School stuff is all new to me. I was tagged by Alison over at Writing, Wishing and Kim at Co-Pilot Mom, so I figured I had to check it out and see what it was all about. It seems like a fun way to get to know people better. This month Elaine and Jennifer are hosting, so check out their posts!

Here goes:

A. Attached or Single?

Attached…for 21 years in August.

Our family

B. Best Friend?

Same as above.

C. Cake or pie?

I really prefer cookies.

D. Day of choice?

Friday or Saturday. Love the anticipation of the weekend on Friday, and Saturday I just enjoy the fact that it’s a day off. Although it’s never really “off” during the sports season.

E. Essential Item?

Sadly, my phone.

F. Favorite color?

Green. I love pretty much every shade but neon. I have so many green tees and sweaters that it is not funny.

G. Gummy bears or worms?

I love gummy bears.

H. Hometown?

I’ve lived so many places. I’ve been here longer than any other place, so I’ll go with where I currently live in Connecticut. It’s a quaint town with a beautiful downtown green!

My hometown

I. Favorite Indulgence?

Curled up under the covers reading a good book, followed by a nap. No, I can’t remember the last time I did this. It’s a fantasy more than anything.

J. January or July?

July, because I love summer!

K. Kids?

Three

L. Life isn’t complete without?

My family

M. Marriage date?

August 22, 1992

N. Number of brothers/sisters?

One brother

O. Oranges or Apples.

Apples in Oct or Nov right off the tree.

P. Phobias?

Checking doors to make sure they are locked at night or before leaving the house.

Q. Quotes?

I love quotes. I use them in photobooks, around the house and in my blog posts.

R. Reasons to smile?

The silly antics of my pets, a heartwarming story, everyday life! One of my favorites is watching one of our cats interact with our puppy (he’s 1 1/2) …they snuggle, she grooms him…it’s very sweet!

Best buddies

S. Season of choice?

Oh definitely summer because it’s most relaxing. But I also love the colors of fall.

T. Tag 5 People.

Kristen, Angela, Ann Marie, Nellie, Joi, Steph Oh, that’s six! I’m already breaking rules.

U. Unknown fact about me?

Hmmmm….believe it or not, I have a post coming up on this in a couple days! Don’t want to spill the beans early. So, I’ll go with the fact that I can not bake. I am very serious. If you ask me to bake cookies or something, I will forget a crucial ingredient like eggs or sugar. If I manage to get through the recipe, I will burn them. Happens every single time. I have never baked a good batch of anything.

V. Vegetable?

I have to choose one? I don’t think I can! Probably brussel sprouts or asparagus or beets, but I love pretty much all veggies.

W. Worst habit?

Not putting paperwork away. My blogging area is a mess.

X. Xray or Ultrasound?

Yes, I’ve had both. In general, I’d prefer to have neither.

Y. Your favorite food?

I like to eat! Mexican, Italian, Arabic, Indian…love all of these!

Z. Zodiac sign?

Cancer.

Don't you just love these? They're just fun and easy ways to learn new things about each other. I like your P and Q answers - I check doors constantly, including the inside doors to make sure no one gets locked in some room. And I would have framed quotes everywhere if my husband would let me!

Yes, it was really fun seeing everyone's answers! My compulsion with locking got me in trouble a couple months ago...we have combo locks instead of key locks on our doors and one time when I went running, I couldn't get back in because the combo lock was broken. We have another one on the garage but I couldn't remember the code because I never use that one. I had to chase my friend down who I had just been running with for her cell phone, otherwise I would have had to go in the doggy door.

Oh my goodness! Yes, I love to read/nap!! And? I just did it last week! Everyone keeps reminding me of all the indulgences I love besides the one I picked. Haha. I love cookies too! They'd be my choice over cake and pie for sure.

I can't believe you got a nap! I am so jealous! Other than cat naps in the car when my husband is driving or at soccer practice while I am waiting, I can't remember the last time I had a nap. In the car does not count! :)

Oh I am so with you! Not not not a baker. I've tried and managed to ruined 90% of what I bake. Sigh :D

I have completely given up on baking. My husband and my daughter are both good bakers so they have gotten the job. In fact I came home the other night from a tryout to find my husband making cookies for my son's class. I would have just bought them.

So glad you played along, I mean you HAD to since you were tagged twice! And I'm also SO glad I found you through this because I had not read your blog before! YAY!

You have a gorgeous family!

Oh and my favorite cookie is chocolate chip, with extra chips! :D

Thanks Elaine! It was fun! I absolutely love cookies -- especially if someone else bakes them. My cookies are seldom edible, sadly.

Cookies really are better than both cake and pie.

Or brownies...I forgot about brownies!! I'd take both of those over cookies and pie! Now that I am thinking about it, I might have to go find a cookie!
