Gift Ideas for the Photographer in Your Life

Sharing is caring!

Disclosure: TrailHeads provided me with a pair of gloves for this giveaway.

It’s that time of year!  For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been happily pinning gift ideas for us shutterbugs on my Pinterest board.  Some of the products I own, some of them I would love to have!  There is a range of prices…definitely something for everyone!  And since it’s the holidays, I thought I would do something fun and offer a giveaway with a few of the items pinned on my board.  See below for the details!  But first, here’s a few fun ideas for the photographer in your life!

For Portrait Photographs

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens is something that’s been on my wish list for a while.  I’d like to take more portrait type photos and this lens offers crisp images with a beautiful blurred background.  Although I’ve never tried this lens out, I’ve heard lots of rave reviews.  For a girl that takes mostly sports photos, this would be a nice change of pace! The price…$339 on Amazon.  There is also a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 available for $110.99, and for the Nikon fans among us, there is also a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 available for $219.00.

For Picture Taking with Your Phone

Expand your picture taking options with your phone with these fun lenses from Photojojo!  They come in Fisheye, Wide Angle/Macro, and Telephoto.  You can have all 3 for $49.  The lens attaches magnetically and you can snap it on and off.  I have to say my favorite is the Fisheye, an ultra wide-angle lens, that gives you a panoramic round effect.  It’s fun to use from the stands in a stadium!

For indoor picture taking

Another one of my favorites from Photojojo is the Pop-up Flash Bounce.  If you ever take pictures indoors, you know how harsh your camera’s flash can be.  The mirror on the Pop-up Flash Bounce directs your flash upwards instead, bouncing it off the ceiling to create a more natural look.  There is a huge difference in my pictures taken with and without it.  For $30, you get beautiful lighting without spending a lot of money for an external flash.

To keep track of your lens cap

I’ve lost more lens caps than I can count.  After purchasing numerous replacements, I tried using those lens cap keepers with elastic that goes around the lens and an adhesive piece that attaches to the lens cap.  Those worked pretty good…until the adhesive wore off. I continued to lose lens caps…just at a little slower rate.  Then I discovered the Hufa Lens Cap Clip.  These are handy little lens cap holders that you can attach to your camera strap.  Simply slide your lens cap in and it stays put securely!  It works with any lens cap size.  We have one on every camera strap in the house now…and haven’t lost a camera strap since! $12.95 each, or 3 for $33.

To keep your hands warm while shooting

These convertible fleece mittens from TrailHeads are great for shooting in the cold.  We live in the Northeast where the fall soccer season extends into some pretty chilly weather.  I love these gloves because you can keep your fingers free, which is a necessity for taking pictures, but still have enough warmth from the glove to keep the camera steady.  Then when your hands get really cold, you can use the mitten part for extra warmth.  I use these gloves pretty much all the time…for running, when I’m out and about, and as I just mentioned, for photography!  LOVE them! $28
