A Little Comment Luv?

Sharing is caring!

FrameSample3Some of you might remember my blog comment woes a couple weeks ago.  The blog comment number at the top of my post went to a big fat zero for all of my posts and all of my comments disappeared. Needless to say, I looked pretty much friendless, and I was frustrated. I had recently installed a couple plugins I wanted to add, Comment Luv being one of them. I’ve been using the Facebook comment plugin, and it’s worked well for me. However, I try to respond to everyone who comments and from what I can tell, if a person clicks the box to not show their comment on Facebook, they will not see my reply. There are many reasons why someone might not want their comment to show up on Facebook, especially if they comment often on a particular person’s blog posts. So, I thought it might be helpful to use another commenting system as well! I’ve seen a couple other blogs using Facebook and Comment Luv, so I was hoping to do the same. No such luck!

I did a little research and wasn’t able to find the answers I was looking for. Sadly, I had to uninstall a couple of the new plugins. But I was back to square one, without the Comment Luv that I wanted on my blog. I kind of put it on back burner for a while…and then tonight, my friend Matt took a look at it for me…and fixed it! I felt like doing a dance! Since we just watched Napoleon Dynamite last weekend (for about the zillionth time), I thought this might be fun!

Apparently the Facebook Comments for WordPress plugin plays nice with Comment Luv, while the plugin I had been using did not. Problem solved, after much angst. But the good news is…I now have Comment Luv!! YAY!! For all of my friends (and soon to be friends) out there who don’t want to use Facebook to leave their comment, I now have another option! I’m so excited! Huge thanks to my friend Matt over at Lukens Consulting! I definitely owe him one!

What’s your favorite commenting system?

Hello, I am using Google+ and Facebook comments plugin on my website for now and thinking about to switch to comment luv. If I switch to Comment Luv, can I import facebook comments to comment luv? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks; Farzana Neha

Farzana, I am so sorry...your comment has been sitting in spam and I just pulled it out! You can have both Facebook comments and Comment Luv...if you notice on mine, I have both. And I did that so I would not lose my Facebook comments, and also so if people wanted to directly share to Facebook they could. I hope that helps!

I like CommentLuv, but I don't think it works on Blogger. I can tell you I'm not switching to Disqus. That one irritates the heck out of me!!

I love commentluv! I don't only love it on my site but I love it on others too because it shows that the author really cares about community! Awesome that you could get it fixed, isn't it funny how they pros can fix most of our frustrations?! LOVE napoleon dynamite. I thought I was the only one :)
