May Designs: May Book Review & Giveaway

Sharing is caring!

Disclosure: I did receive a May Book for this review. I am also the happy owner of many May Books that I purchased as well! All opinions represented in this post are my own.

I’m addicted to May Books! I learned about May Designs at one of Tory Johnson’s Spark and Hustle events last year when we were treated to a cute Spark & Hustle notebook. The owner of May Designs, Mica May, originally started a graphic design firm, but began making notebooks after her clients started asking her for the notebooks she would bring to their meetings. The rest is history! May Designs offers adorable custom notebooks and cards! They have all sorts of fun patterns to choose from and you can customize the front with a name or a saying or even a monogram.  Even the inside is customizable, with options like lined or dotted paper, a monthly or weekly agenda, menu planner, exercise journal and more!  The design process is simple! I will tell you now…it’s really hard to order just one!!

They’re also really well made…they’re stitched by a sewing machines rather than stapled, which means they are really durable.  The covers are eco-friendly Green-e Certified Canvas….AND…they’re also made right here in the US, in Memphis, Tennessee!

I have all sorts of May Books for random notetaking, blog post ideas, one for client notes for my photo organizing business…I’m one of those people who likes to have a little notebook on me at all times for creative inspiration.  Years ago, I used to think I could remember ideas and the cute things my children said, but the reality was, those thoughts just floated away and most of the time I never got them back.  I learned my lesson. Now if I think of something I want to remember, I can write it down on the spot.

A few months ago, my teenage daughter discovered my stash of May Books.  She has the same note taking addiction that I do.  You can guess what happened.  I had to order more notebooks.  She’s just as excited as I am when the package comes!

I recently ordered myself a weekly agenda and a menu planner. I’m planning to use the weekly agenda as “list corral.” I write tons of lists and notes to myself which tend to get lost. Now I can keep a running tab on my lists! The menu planner came in handy this week for the grocery shopping.  On one side you write down what you are having, and on the other side, you can write down the ingredients you need. The notebook is small enough to fit in my purse, so I just brought it with me to the grocery store. Besides the fact that it’s quite handy, isn’t it cute?! LOVE IT!
