Organizing Made Easy with Bloglovin

Sharing is caring!

Google is closing down Google Reader as of July 1. Have you found an alternative?

A few weeks ago I finally signed up with Bloglovin. It was really quite easy to do…I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner.

Organizing Made Easy with Bloglovin

Did you know you can add a blog to your Bloglovin feed even if the blog doesn’t have a Bloglovin button on their site?

I actually had quite a few blogs where I was receiving posts by email. That’s fine when it’s just a few, but when you are following a lot of them, your email inbox can get out of control. So I have switched all of my email subscriptions over to Bloglovin instead. Many of my favorite blogs didn’t have a bloglovin button on their site though. Some had alternatives, but I prefer to have everything in one place. I took about 40 minutes the other day and switched everything over. All you have to do is type in the url where it says Search blogs and hit enter. When the blog appears, you will click Follow. Wasn’t that easy?  It’s definitely a quicker process when the blog you like has a button though. And you can make it even easier by adding a button to each post!  See how I have a Bloglovin button at the bottom of this post? You don’t have to go looking for it now on my main page! For those of you out there who don’t have a button yet, make it easy on the rest of us and get one. Please. In some cases, it could mean the difference between following and not following.

How to Add a Blog to your Bloglovin Feed when they don't have a button

You can also set up groups and organize your favorite blogs.

When you follow a blog, you are asked if you want to add it to a group. But if you aren’t ready to add it to a group right then and there, you can add it later. That’s what I did when my blog list spiralled out of control. One group you will definitely want to set up is your tribe. Your tribe is your best blogger friends who you can count on to support, share and engage with you!  By keeping them organized all in one place, you will always remember to visit their blogs on a regular basis! If you don’t have a tribe yet, and aren’t quite sure how to find one, check out my post How to Grow Your Blog by Building a Tribe of Online Friends.

If you need to know how to move your Google Reader to Bloglovin, this post has you covered. Janine Huldie from J9 Designs and Janine’s Confessions of a Mommyaholic has a great post on how to let your subscribers know you are on Bloglovin.

By the way, I’m on Bloglovin now. See my button? I’d love it if you followed me!

Hey Michelle! Thanks for the tip! I knew something was weird. I took it that you were much more experienced as a blogger than I thought. But I was confused when I saw that you had less than 200 followers on blog lovin'. This makes perfect sense. You didn't have your account set up for that long over there. I nominated you for a Liebster thinking how does she not have this on her blog yet and her site is so amazing! :-) Thanks for stopping by my Mommy Monday Blog Hop! Always a pleasure reading your posts! Have an extraordinary week! <3

I found out when someone told me they were following me...I'm thinking to myself how on earth are they following me when I don't even have a button. I did a little research and found out you can do that. It certainly has made my life easier! But I think everyone should go get a button too!

I didn't know that you could do that. I know right off at least two blogger who I just go to their site, because they don't have any subscription offerings. Pinned this.

I'm so glad you found it helpful! I didn't realize that you could follow someone without a button either until someone told me they were following me! Then a lightbulb went off. Now I use it for all my favorite blogs, whether they have the button or not. But it definitely makes it easier for everyone if they do have it!

Luckily I started blogging right when they started saying GFC was going away so I immediately was on Bloglovin- it is good although I missed a few days and am now a little overwhelmed wanting to make sure I didn't miss anything on my fave blogs- like yours!

Thanks!! I've missed a couple days due to a crazy schedule and I am sure it is going to be overwhelming when I get to it later today or tomorrow, but it's going to be so much easier than the alternative!! And better than missing out on the posts from the blogs you love!
