#FoodieFriDIY no 122: Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Friday!

It’s been a good and difficult week all rolled in one this week. I’ll tell you my good news first. My youngest son placed 16th at the New England Championships with a new 5k PR of 15:58. I think at this point he is officially the fastest man in the house, no easy feat with my husband ar0und, because he is still pretty fast even at his advanced age. Did I just say that? LOL

The bad news…I have to have neck surgery at the beginning of next month. I am a little nervous, but as my friend Amy says I’m trying to have “faith, not fear.” I will be out of commission for a bit, but I will have things scheduled on my blog for while I’m out, so please, PLEASE stop by and visit me. I might not be cooking, since I am supposed to be taking it easy, but I will be around.

AND…I have a favor to ask you all as well! Recently I shared my Lemon Herb Chicken with you. It is part of a Finlandia recipe contest and I would so appreciate if you could take the time to go VOTE for me! You can vote once a day and increase your chances of winning! One lucky voter is going to win $1000, and one of the competing bloggers will win a trip to Finland! And of course check out my recipe as well!

Now let’s talk about our features! I thought I would highlight some Thanksgiving recipes for those of you who haven’t already set your menu!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! There will be no party next week due to the holiday! Enjoy your time with your family and we will see you in two weeks!

Ready for the party?

We’re not really a rules-type party. But here’s what we do ask.

1. Link up your favorite recipes and projects from your own blog. Roundups are fine as long as they include links to the recipes or DIY projects. Please DO NOT link a post without a recipe, project, craft, or tutorial.

2. We’d be truly grateful if you shared our party to other food and DIY blog friends so others can join in the fun! Tweet us. Share us on Facebook (the party will go up on my page on Thursday evening, if you’d like to share from there). However you can help us spread the word, we appreciate!

3. It’s not a requirement of course, but if you can, try to visit another link or two and leave a thoughtful comment. Give someone a shout out on social media. Use the hashtag #FoodieFriDIY…we’re trying to grow a community for all of us, and it’s always nice to make new friends.

4. We’d love it if you’d follow us on Pinterest.

Don’t forget after you get done linking up to drop by my Facebook page and share your favorite recipes or DIY project that you have linked up. I will try my best to show your post some extra love…please be sure to share either the link or the number in the link up so it’s easy for me to find it!

Let’s get this party started!

Thoughts and prayers with you for that surgery ;-) Does sound scary but modern day medicine and technology are just incredible with the things they can do now! Thanks for hosting and congrats to the son (and sorry, dad, it was bound to happen sooner or later!)

Thank you Jan! I know I'm in good hands, but still nervous! And the running thing...I'm looking forward to the day they actually run the same race.

Michelle, thank you for hosting. I hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery. But DO take it easy for as long as the doctor says to, don't try to rush it.

Thanks Jean! I'm not good at rest, but I'm not messing around with this one for sure! Going to try to get myself scheduled ahead and will take the much needed break. :)

Wow, neck surgery. I would be nervous too - but I think you'll be just fine. Keep the faith! We will be sure to help you out any way we can as your blogging friends during your recovery period.
