What a week! The kids had two track meets this week, and I am headed out tomorrow on my 4th trip this month (I think I might be all traveled out). My flight is at 6:30 am tomorrow morning. I am so not a morning person. I’m not looking forward to getting up that early, but I am excited about going to Vegas!
And I am also excited about my features this week! The summer is when we do most of our entertaining. Our joke with our friends is that we only invite people over during the summer time, and it is pretty much true. We have a pool, and we love to relax by it with family and friends…with good food and drinks of course!
My husband has a smoker and the smoked ribs he makes are amazing! We “won” the smoker at an auction (because I kept bidding on it), and it sat in the garage for a couple of years because my husband didn’t see the reason we needed one. Then finally he took it out, and now he uses it as much, if not more, than the grill in the summer! Anyway, back to the ribs…they’re hugely popular at our summer parties, and we never seem to have enough no matter how many we make! I need to update the pictures on that recipe, but feel free to check the recipe out…it’s really good!
But back to our party. This week it’s all about cocktails and mocktails! When I saw all the wonderful drink recipes shared this week, I couldn’t resist sharing them with you! I have one I am working on too, but I wasn’t happy with my first pictures, so I had to re-do them. I guess it wasn’t so horrible that I had to retake my pictures, as it was quite delicious! But, you will have to be in suspense on it a little longer. I do have some other yummy cocktails to share with you though…in case you need more ideas!

Ready for the party?
We’re not really a rules-type party. But here’s what we do ask.
1. Link up your favorite recipes and projects from your own blog. Roundups are fine as long as they include links to the recipes or DIY projects. Please DO NOT link a post without a recipe, project, craft, or tutorial.
2. We’d be truly grateful if you shared our party to other food and DIY blog friends so others can join in the fun! Tweet us. Share us on Facebook (the party will go up on my Facebook page on Thursday evening, if you’d like to share from there). However you can help us spread the word, we appreciate!
[Tweet “Increase your traffic, come party at #FoodieFriDIY! @dishofdailylife loves to SHARE!”]
3. It’s not a requirement of course, but if you can, try to visit another link or two and leave a thoughtful comment. Give someone a shout out on social media. Use the hashtag #FoodieFriDIY…we’re trying to grow a community for all of us, and it’s always nice to make new friends.
4. We’d love it if you’d follow us on Pinterest.
Don’t forget after you get done linking up to drop by my Facebook page and share your favorite recipes or DIY project that you have linked up…I will make sure to show your post some love on some form of social media! Please be sure to share either the link or the number in the link up so it’s easy for me to find it.
Let’s get this party started!
