Disclosure: I did receive a new Hufa Holder lens cap clip for this review; however, I have been using Hufa Holders on my camera straps for about a year now. I did not receive any other compensation for this review, and all opinions are my own.
For those of you who know me, you know I’m pretty addicted to my camera. I love photography, and I especially enjoy shooting sports! But while I’m out there on the soccer field taking pictures, I’ve also lost a bunch of lens caps as well.
Over the years, I’ve actually lost more lens caps than I can count. It seems like it should be simple…just put it in your pocket or back in the camera bag (what a novel concept)…but of course I wouldn’t be writing this post if I was that organized. So after purchasing numerous replacements, I tried to find a better solution. I purchased those lens cap keepers with the elastic that goes around the lens and an adhesive piece that attaches to the lens cap. Those worked pretty good, until the adhesive wore off, and I found myself with a string with no lens cap at the end of it. Talk about frustrating, not to mention a waste of money. And the biggest problem is that when you’re without a lens cap, your lens is unprotected and you’re risking damage!
Luckily for me, I discovered this company called Hufa. Hufa makes a really cool little lens cap clip that attaches to your camera strap. You just slide your lens cap in while you’re shooting, and it’s secure! I’ve got a small mirrorless camera and a DSLR with very different lens cap sizes, and I worried that my Hufa Holder might not hold the larger lens cap. That worry has proved to be completely unfounded. I’ve used my Hufa Holder on numerous trips, at all sorts of sporting events, and even while skiing, and haven’t lost a lens cap since! We now have them on every single camera strap in the house, including my daughter’s, who convinced me to hand down my last DSLR to her.
If you’ve ever lost a lens cap, you’ll definitely want to check out Hufa! Hufa Holder lens cap clips come in 3 colors: black, red and white. In addition to the original lens cap clip, they also have an S version, which works with sling style camera straps, like the BlackRapid.
I’m excited to let you know that we’ll be giving away 3 of these this week, courtesy of our friends at Hufa! Each winner will receive their choice of the original or S version lens cap clip. The color you receive will be chosen randomly.
